@EUCommission - the EU caved - like everyone else has been doing - to a lunatic whose goal has nothing to do with fairness, or what is best.
15% tariffs will hurt both EU and US citizens, while no reciprocal penalties mean that there is nothing preventing US products from overwhelming the quality and safety of products the EU is known for.
A trading partner should have done far better for its citizens. Found reliable (read sane) trading partners instead.

@EUCommission

Yeah, strong leadership! lol

"The optics could hardly have been more humiliating for the representative of 450 million Europeans. Von der Leyen had to fly to Scotland and wait until the president and his son had finished their round of golf, then endure his boasts about the magnificence of the gilded Donald J Trump ballroom in which they met."

@EUCommission

Fuck the morally corrupt EU, its genocidal support for Israel and its shameless TOTAL subjection to Trump. We're the world's laughing stock and we deserve it that nobody respects us, neither the Russians, nor the Americans.

'As one wag described it, the commission chief’s posture should henceforth be known as “von der Lying Down”.'

@EUCommission it’s profoundly disheartening that the European Union has chosen to dignify transactional bullying with a handshake.
This haunts me in my dreams because I’m fundamentally pro EU.

It’s an utter disgrace to see how easy it was for President Trump to play apart the member states of the so-called “Union”.

It pains me to see how the European Union hits the snooze button over and over again. 2014 (Krim) and 2016 (first term) were misted wake up calls.

@EUCommission Chill down folks. This is just a framework agreement and not legally binding. More negotiations will happen out of the spotlight.
Currently 15% tariff will apply to ~70% of EU goods. EU pledged to buy $750 billion of US energy products but US does not produce that much. The deal completion will require backing of a majority of EU countries.
I understand the sentiment but devil is in the details.

@EUCommission
