Most #Republicans are vehemently opposed to the #AffordableCareAct, which was implemented in 2014 during the #Obama admin, but they have been unable to coalesce around a plan to replace it. A small group of Republicans from swing districts, alarmed about the political consequences of allowing the subsidies to expire, had been urging Johnson to allow a vote on allowing them to continue, at least temporarily.
After a closed-door morning meeting with Republicans, Johnson ruled out such a vote.
