Despite backslash, Mozilla went ahead and added Perplexity’s AI option.
Mozilla’s Firefox adds Perplexity’s AI answer engine as a new search option https://techcrunch.com/2025/10/14/mozillas-firefox-adds-perplexitys-ai-answer-engine-as-a-new-search-option/

Mozilla is so disconnected from its user base. No wonder they are losing the browser battle. People chose Firefox for specific reasons such as privacy or no AI, yet they keep messing around. I fear they won't be around in a fewz years time. I wish to be prove wrong.

@nixCraft If it isn't the default, they won't nag me to use it and they don't send my data to them behind my back, I'm okay with it being an option. I find myself using it when I just wanna look something up quickly.

@nixCraft I guess that’s where LibreFox comes in. 🤷‍♂️

@nixCraft I guess that means people that use photoshop must use all available tools at all times. Just disable it if you don't like it. Jesus christ. I'm so sick of the anti-AI crowd

@nixCraft I'm keeping a very close eye on Servo. Once it's viable, I'm out.

@nixCraft Mozilla has had a tough time generating revenue and developers don't work for free. I wouldn't be surprised if they try the subscription model next.
