i wonder how one could make GDM start faster

@mntmn In my memory, GDM launches a comlete Gnome-session before login, that's why it is slower in startup than other desktop manager. Entering Gnome afterwards is faster, then, but yeah, it's kinda useless if you choose not to use Gnome...

@mntmn You can replace it with something snappier or just remove it altogether. Since I'm the only person who uses my computers, I sometimes take the automatic approach. No login needed for me 😁 If you have disk encryption enabled, entering that password is enough security for me. To lock my session, I use slock. But I'm also still on xorg...
