I can’t tell which is dumber: a billionaire stating billionaires should pay capital gains taxes, or the fact that “not paying taxes” will make up for complete loss of financial autonomy for a massive part of the country.

Complete insanity.

@nixCraft The unemployed are already exempt by dint of not having income to tax.

@nixCraft Apply a single rate to all compensation and income of any kind. We don't need to break out special categories of "rich people only" income class, we just have to raise the marginal rate to compensate.

A progressive tax structure only exists on paper if most of the idle investment class pays nothing into the pot or only pays what they feel like leaving in taxable streams.

The people who paid to complicate the tax code in their own favor need to stop being asked their opinions.
