@pinsl compare to my original where i tried to guard this stub (the stub itself is also not great of course) with GND vias. if i were to redo this i would also not route the Net-J1-Pin-1 trace (5V) there across the USB-C...

in any case i would upgrade this to 4 layer

@pinsl i haven't seen your firmware, another fix might be to downgrade the speed of the USB connection if it's not already at the lowest speed

@mntmn Thank you for having a look. As is evident, I have no idea how to route high frequency signals. I'll try replacing the trace with a twisted pair. As I am not currently interessted in producing more PCBs I'll not look into a redisign.

@pinsl OK. i could potentially fix up the design and we could offer it to more interested people if you're ok with that. i'm no expert on split KBs though (in terms of what people expect in the firmware etc)
