@pipelinec You'll want to mention @nlnet and not us. We make #OpenSource software ourselves, for #DNS and #BGP. 🩵
New in #LibreOffice 26.2: Writer now displays a more visible grid, and the Snap to Grid functionality now accurately aligns objects with the grid. https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/26.2#Writer #foss #opensource #freesoftware
@jasper and @drk are at the Euro-IX Route Server Workshop today. Jasper presented on our route collector Rotonda, which is nicely shaping up.
We're churning out features and improvements, not in the last place thanks to our collab with Fastnetmon.

> The Slow Death of the Power User
https://fireborn.mataroa.blog/blog/the-slow-death-of-the-power-user/
"We’re losing the adversarial capacity to hold platforms accountable. This is the one that matters most and gets talked about least. The open-source movement, the early security research community, the hacker culture in the original sense — these were not just about building things. They were a check on the power of institutions. When IBM tried to close the PC platform, the clone manufacturers and the DOS ecosystem that emerged from them broke the lock. When phone companies tried to prevent customers from attaching third-party devices to their networks, the hacker community and subsequent regulatory action broke that lock too. When the early internet’s institutional gatekeepers tried to control what protocols could run on it, the end-to-end principle and the culture of routing around obstacles broke those locks."

ps.: Hey @EUCommission , there is a paragraph directly addressing y'all's work. The Digital Market's Act is a good first step, but misses the bigger picture.
For our #Rust projects, we created a bespoke #OpenSource pipeline to build and publish binary packages for the last three major versions of Debian, Ubuntu, RHEL and derivatives.
Ploutos is now almost four years old, and the way #rustlang packaging is done for these OSes has evolved quite a bit. The pipeline is also closely built around GitHub Actions, and now that we're moving to @Codeberg we need to overhaul it anyway.
Any tips or experiences from the Rust community?
Join us at the #LibreOffice Conference 2026, which will take place in Pordenone, northern Italy, from 10 – 12 September! The Call for Papers is now open: https://blog.documentfoundation.org/blog/2026/03/11/libocon-2026-call-for-papers/ #foss #openSource #freesoftware

@mro @Codeberg Thanks Marcus, we we did our research and planned ahead!
While we manage six major open-source projects used by corporate-industry-hyperscalers and home users alike, we are a tiny non-profit ourselves with only 15 staff. Our expectations are well tuned…
Also, we have our own, dedicated server for our runners all set up. We intend to overhaul our package building and publication too. Looking forward to the migration process!
In February, the #LibreOffice community worked on improvements to Writer and Calc table styles, along with other optimisations and fixes: https://qa.blog.documentfoundation.org/2026/03/10/qa-dev-report-february-2026/ #foss #openSource #freesoftware
Back in May 2019, we said goodbye to SVN and Bugzilla and migrated to Git and GitHub [1]. Since then, we accumulated 188 repositories. 🙀
We're now making a list to decide which ones we're moving to @Codeberg and which are going to be archived and left behind.
While we're doing that, we signed NLnet Labs up as a Codeberg e.V. member!

Wir eröffnen eine neue Bewerbungsphase für das Sovereign Tech Fellowship! 🎉
Was ist neu?

Millions of students are getting locked into closed, proprietary software from Big Tech vendors. Here's how #LibreOffice can give them back their digital sovereignty: https://blog.documentfoundation.org/blog/2026/03/06/libreoffice-for-education-regaining-digital-sovereignty/ #foss #openSource #freesoftware
