Trying to get a fix[1] into 6.12.34 when it comes out, along with the other stable kernels.
Also affected are:
5.10.238
5.15.185
6.1.141
6.6.93

A couple of people have asked now, so I'd better clarify.
The bug does NOT exist in mainline (6.16) or 6.15 or 6.14. The problem affects stable kernels only (the ones that get shipped in your distros). There has been a whole series of patches to the IPv6 code recently and one of those was backported to the stable trees without applying some of the previous patches it relies on.
Unfortunately the fix didn't make it into yesterday's batch of stable kernels, so IPv6 UDP fragmentation is still broken.
Is the problem also present when using sendto
or is it specific to sendmsg
?
This is a small personal instance of Bonfire in the Fediverse.
