I took two things from @pluralistic today:
1. I'm as old as the acronym GIGO [1] [2]
2. GIGOGBI is a great new acronym!
[1] The deeper meaning of this is left as an exercise for the reader.
[2] I'm also as old as the 'Space Age'; but I don't think the two things are connected in any way.

@pluralistic And thank you for coming all the way to NZ - so few ever do, on account of it being so far away from the rest of the world that it is practically on the moon.
The bit that echoed the longest was the Corpus callosum severance story, where the spoken word is the spark that jumped the gap.
The analogue hole between McGilchristian hemispheres... and I'm prone to going a bit Milton/Blake on the whole thing so am tempted to see the gap between the hemispheres as being a literal physical instantiation of The War in Heaven - and "in the beginning was the word" has a certain ring to it.
