Please fund a privacy friendly Fediverse that does respect user data and also delivers encryption of private messages!
Currently a lot of people are rolling out Mastodon which does not bring the privacy features we need in the world of today. Since 30+ years privacy advocates are begging for "encrypt everything" and still in 2026 we see a big rollout of an anachronistic system that is less secure than 90´s email.
@sovtechfund any particularly exciting developments on this front?
- From projects to ecosystems: rethinking open source foundations as shared digital infrastructure with Bill Mulligan and Patrick Masson
- A panel bringing together experts from multiple FOSS projects (Mockoon, DuckDB, WeasyPrint and GNOME) to share lessons learned from their funding journeys
