@renchap understood. And trust me, they have all my sympathy.

I just wish they followed the example of the Court of Justice of the European Union. They added TONS of social media icons in their footer... you can see how they're all crowded together and sort of breaking the alignment, but at least they made the effort. Go Curia! 🏆

I think that it would be good to have only social media buttons of public value driven, self hosted platforms at the bottom of all pages (e.g. the Mastodon account), and one button that redirects to a page with bigtech share buttons. This page should also have an explanation why these platforms are not recommended and therefore only accessible via that intermediate page.
