I purchased a smartphone for the first time in my life last May. Not too long during the process of activation I realized I had made a mistake. It is now in a corner, mostly collecting dust, and probably environmental sound, waiting for necessity to arise.

The phone came with a functionality that measures the time you spend on it on a weekly basis. By now, this tool must be thinking in measuring Google/Samsung's own use of the phone instead.

This made me want to thank all the people who contribute or has contributed to the development of libre software and libre cultural works in general, from typo fixers to doctors in computer science.
