#ScoutingAmerica will alter several policies after threats from the #Trump #Pentagon, including a requirement that members use “biological sex at birth & not gender identity,” #Defense Secy #Hegseth announced Friday.
Some of the changes…include discontinuing its #Citizenship in #Society #MeritBadge & introducing a #Military Service merit badge as well as waiving registration fees for children of military personnel.

Pentagon and Scouting America reach deal to keep ties after Hegseth's anti-DEI push

The Pentagon has made a deal with Scouting America that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth says would maintain their century-old partnership but refocus the organization away from “woke” policies.

In a capitulation to the Department of Defense and EO 14173, Scouting America just agreed to eliminate their "Citizenship in Society" merit badge because it asks the scout to "research the following terms and explain to your counselor how you feel they relate to the Scout Oath and Scout Law: identities, diversity, equality, equity, inclusion, discrimination, ethical leadership, and upstander."

This was done to retain access to DoD resources and military bases.
