Is this human authored or AI authored? Answer in spoilertext.

@cadey it has a watermark in the lower-right corner, so ai probably had some involvement, but given that it exists, there was also human involvement.

the watermark makes this feel like a trick question so i'm going to be pedantic about it and argue semantics

there was authorship performed by scraping rocks on rocks, authorship performed by using new technologies such as paint and canvas and clay, authorship using digital analogues to painting tools, and now authorship using models. the fundamental progression doesn't change; technology is an increase in the amount of ways a thing can be produced, which often makes things possible or faster to produce

so, authored by human using ai, or by the sum of a human body and technological infrastructure and resources extracted from the universe (sunlight, food, water, sand, uranium, etc)

@cadey If this was drawn by a human, there would be so many individual things to red line.

Though, beyond that, the most weird to me is the composition. Specifically the evenness of detail throughout the entire piece. Every window is rendered clearly (except when they're mush), in the far distance, huge amount of visual density, and less visual density on the shirts of the forefront characters. It's like spending hours on engraving a building before the foundation has been laid.

While it's possible for a human artist to draw this, but why would they do it like this? Why have a blue strip on the face? Why take more care on lighting the windows correctly than making her boot belts correct?

@cadey could be totally wrong, but why not be confident:

The image is a composite. Some artifacting around the edges of the characters in the foreground (particularly around phone + hand) make me think it is a combination of two images. Everything in the background comes from a different image (as well as the flowers on the sides. I think this background is AI generated. The characters in the foreground ~~may be AI, but I am not sure~~ seem like AI.
