@nixCraft I use (and love) Krita! I've tried GIMP, but the UX was confusing and overwhelming, so I uninstalled it after a few days.
@nixCraft I've used GIMP quite a bit, mainly back when I was a broke teenager in high school who couldn't afford anything else. I eventually went on to use Pixelmator, actual Photoshop, then Affinity Photo. However, started using GIMP again in the past year with my adventures in OpenIndiana/UNIX. Have also played with Inkscape a couple times but don't care for it that much.
@nixCraft I've been using gimp, but mostly Inkscape for more than 15 years for all kinds of projects like cards, editing svg and all kinds of home graphical work.
@nixCraft I've been a heavy user of The Gimp a bit before the release 2.0. Really nice tool, always did what I needed 😊 Tried inkscape, but never went too far with it
@nixCraft I switched from gimp to Krita sometime last year, I think.
@nixCraft Used Inkscape last month to make another SVG Icon

Not sure about last time used GIMP. But it is my current raster image editor.
@nixCraft I use only Gimp and Inkscape, Inkscape since Sodipodi
@nixC Hello...
Is there a real alternative 🤪
As a simple user, I dont' want to try an other thing that is not open source AND gnu friendly...
Gnu linux forever and everyone ...
😜
@nixCraft I use GIMP and Krita (recent shift to Krita, I like it better) but stick with Illu$trator for vector work. 🤷♂️
@nixCraft I use Gimp and Krita often.
@nixCraft I use GIMP, Inkscape, Dia and KiCAD 😬
@nixCraft Inkscape, Pinta, GIMP, in that order.
My needs are simple and if I wouldn't be lazy, I would do it in cli.
@nixCraft I use from time to time GIMP, like It's the only app that I use in the rare cases I need stuff like this
@nixCraft Me. Daily.
@nixCraft Tried GIMP, it's functional but a bit hard if you're not used to it. Krita is great, feels like modern design software. I want to say something nice about Inkscape. Full stop.
@nixCraft
I use Krita and I absolutely love it! As I always did, it was the first program that I ever used to draw and I found it so nice that I never bothered to search for other editors.
(Of course I used GIMP and Inkscape, but not for drawing.)
@nixCraft Just discovered Krita - it's amazing! Used Gimp and Inkscape too - very good. Find Gimp's interface a bit clunky.
