@nixCraft Dell Inspiron 15, it was a good laptop but the top part separated because the hinges had become too tight

@nixCraft
An iBook G4 white. £700+ UK.
The first thing I did was install a firmware hack that was doing the rounds to allow the inbuilt (but factory disabled) dual screen output in order to use modul8 vj software. It worked perfectly for years.

@nixCraft Acer Aspire 2001 WLCI. Glorious first generation Centrino platform. I still remember the detailed model number, so it must have left a mark.

@nixCraft Circa 2000 I guess, it was a Debian laptop, and everything worked!
Ok, except suspend, the PCMCIA port, the integrated modem, the Wifi, the webcam and the Synaptics two-finger gestures.

@nixCraft some acer aspire 3 with 8gb of ram with an i3-6006u and a small ssd with a 1tb hdd and this slightly higher res the 720p screens.
Surprisingly solid for the specs and i gotta put something else on it since win11 isnt supported on it and probably even if it were, probably not such a good time
