pondering to upgrade from fp5 to fp6:
—the new toggle switch could really work for me because i often have to switch between dnd and normal mode, but on my fp5 android the button is often broken (doesn't react) in quick settings
—now that i have a lot of pictures on the phone, the camera sometimes doesn't save quickly enough so i lose photos or get motion blurry photos. also the camera often overexposes by default, which is supposedly better on the fp6
i don't really have cash at the moment tho

I was also thinking about the #Fairphone 6. After some research I decided to buy a used OnePlus 9 with 12 GB and 256 GB and put #iodeOS on it (Android 16, see https://meow.social/@garra/115906508775792777). This solution works great (2 days of battery after 1000 charging cycles), the phone has better hardware than most current phones, it is much cheaper (around 100 € in my case), and last but not least it is super sustainable.
@mntmn my honest opinion: don't.
I had the 5 and it was good. Video capture at concerts waa horrible amd this was a known issue from fp3 onwords.
The fact they made the 6 so early after the 5 doesn't help the support cycle which I think is not good.
I went with grapheneOS on a pixel 9 in the end. It's not as fair or repairable but software support is much better.
I have the fairbuds and fairbudsXL though which will stay with me. Repaired the XL once already 👌
also, is it a general android 15 problem that notifications are super wonky/random? for example, @holo_memory is writing to me on signal while i'm typing here on masto, and most of the time the phone vibrates in my hand but shows no visual indicator of what happened, _or_ sometimes the message pops up on top of what i'm doing. both are not ideal. i wish the notification bar was useful somehow. currently it shows the time and 4 old icons from stuff i didn't check, and that doesn't update. normal?
@holo_memory theory: the popup is always "shown" but i can't see it because it is immediately dismissed by any screen tapping (because i'm typing at the same time). possible? how to change that?
@holo_memory also, why would the phone vibrate while showing a popup? that's just too much
