La conclusion minimaliste et lâchement universitaire est qu'Android pose des problèmes d'accessibilité à certains profils de personnes handicapées. Moi je pense que #Google tente activement de rendre ces profils paranoïaques et de les tuer. Et je sais pourquoi je dis ça, donc à terme j'en ferai un document PDF.

It looks like one of the drawbacks of using #GrapheneOS is that, when catastrophe hits, I'll be one of the first people to go.

Manual recording of my health data such as blood pressure, blood sugar, sleep, steps and more in a LibreOffice Calc spreadsheet, can be easily converted into a PDF for my doctors to evaluate

Am I missing anything? Absolutely not! This setup works just as smoothly and conveniently as previous ecosystem solutions from Apple, Google or Samsung. Only with significantly more privacy, without tracking and surveillance by US Big Tech

I learned something today: Google's Gemini "AI" on phones accesses your data from "Phones, Messages, WhatsApp" and other stuff whether you have Gemini turned on or not. It just keeps the data longer if you turn it on. Oh, and lets it be reviewed by humans (!) for Google's advantage in training "AI" etc.

But this only came to my attention because of an upcoming change: it's going to start keeping your data long-term even if you turn it "off": "#Gemini will soon be able to help you use Phone, #Messages, #WhatsApp, and Utilities on your phone, whether your Gemini Apps Activity is on or off."

This is, of course, a #privacy and #security #nightmare.

If this is baked into Android, and therefore not removable, I'd have to say I'd recommend against using Android at all starting July 7th.

Starting to tinker with old/disused smartphones to self-host. However, upon buying a couple second-hand phones, I'm often faced with Google's FRP protection: you can only use the phone by connecting to the previous owner's google account. Factory reset doesn't solve this.
Do you have any trustworthy resources on bypassing this? terminal tools? forums?
Seems essentials to increase phone's lifespan.

In my ongoing attempts to try as much as possible to get away from the all-seeing eyes I realized having a #google #keyboard on my #phone probably doesnt help.

While not as flashy and functional, #fdroid does have some reasonable #FOSS keyboard replacements.

The street that my mum lives in is a one-way street, but wasn't marked as such on #Google Maps. This caused many drivers to drive the wrong way. I have tried to edit it on Google Maps (there is such functionality), but to no avail. No matter how often I submitted a change (with photos of street signs!), Google said "Sorry, we could not verify it".

Solution: Edit the street on #OpenStreetMap! A few months after I did this, Google seems to have stolen the data, as it regularly does, and now the street is correct in both datasets!

Ugh, everytime new #SmartGlasses are presented masses of people are crooning how absolutely cool that is. Think about it a bit more, folks, I'd say.

The moment smart glasses become well accepted and pervasive in society, is the moment we know that shite really hit the fan, and we are deep in dystopia.

It is not unthinkable we get a high adoption rate, if those #AR info overlays provide real use to people.

Compare to driving from A to B which hardly anyone can do anymore withouth #Google Maps.

There is only one Google service left that I need to replace and then I will be free of Google. And I think @jottacloud will replace that last service. I created a free 5GB account to see if the service will work for me and it's working brilliantly. Not based in the US, secure, privacy-focused, and powered by 100% green energy. I'll be upgrading to a premium plan.
