The @EUCommission’s #DigitalServicesAct enforcement cost about €15 million less than anticipated in 2025.

"The surplus comes as the cost of human resources was some €8 million lower than estimated, with operational and administrative expenditure some €7.5 million lower," wrote Politico.

In other words: the Commission has difficulties hiring the number of staff it needs to hold #BigTech accountable.

✊🏾 The strict enforcement of EU’s tech laws is not up for negotiation!

Yesterday, the @EUCommission confirmed plans to open a new “formal dialogue” with the 🇺🇸 gov on EU tech law enforcement. Framed as cooperation, this could create a backdoor for Big Tech to weaken EU'slandmark rules.

The #DSA, #DMA, #AIAct & #GDPR exist to protect people, safeguard democracy & rein in Big Tech. If the Commission seeks enforcement dialogue, it should do so with the people in europe & public interest groups.

The @EUCommission announced it is exploring a new EU-US “dialogue” on digital rules, as Washington piles on the pressure over how the EU enforces its tech laws.

“If confirmed, this is nothing short of complete capitulation to the #Trump admin’s coercive tactics,” said #Greens MEP @SLagodinsky.

“No need to do this,” said liberal MEP Sandro Gozi. “The Commission must implement the #DSA + #DMA, not discuss them with the US. It’s a clear attempt to slow down implementation and weaken enforcement.”
